What is the difference between a Honda Civic LX, EX, and EX-L?

What is the difference between a Honda Civic (Coupe) LX, EX, and EX-L model? As far as the specs go, they are identical except the EX-L only comes with an Automatic Transmission.

Honda has been using the same trim levels for years. lx means it has your basics like ac radio and base engine. nothing really fancy. ex is the “executive” package which means has the best engine sun roof cd player navi system and better speakers. now when if the trim level has an “L” in it it means it has everything the ex trim has plus leather seats

Its kinda cool that you ask this question, my parents just bought a 2008 Accord EX-L V6. Let me see if I can provide some basic info for you. The LX is the base model on the new Accords, I don’t believe they have the DX anymore. The LX is a 4 cyl engine with cloth seats, alloy wheels and everything you would need for comfort and performance. The EX is also a 4 cyl engine but now has leather seating, a sunroof, heated seats, and separate climate control. The top of the line is the near 300HP EX-L V6 which obviously has the V6 engine, custom wheels, Sirius satellite radio, 6CD changer, a single CD player standard on the lesser models. The most amazing thing I like about the EX-L V6 besides its looks, the dual exhausts etc is the MPG rated at 25-35. When traveling at a constant cruising speed the engine shuts down 3 of the 6 cylinders increasing mileage, all V6’s should do that, I think the Charger has it as well but I’m not sure. As far as the Civics it is basically the same, the higher the level the more the equipment except the Civics are all 4 cylinder models. The Si is the high performance model rated at 197HP. I believe the others are 145-160. Their MPG is higher at 28-38. I hope all of this helps.
