…Yet each exclude and condemn each other to hell, are they all talking about the same Jesus?
How does that work out?
Persons X, Y and Z all use the same words, but each defines and understands them in a different way.
Perhaps person “X” was told by their pastor that they can make a “FREEWILL” decision to “ACCEPT CHRIST” or say the “SINNER’S PRAYER”, or “BELIEVE IN HIS HEART” or “SEEK GOD” to have a personal relationship with Jesus.
But, according to the Bible, that would be FALSE.
“For BY GRACE ARE YOU SAVED THROUGH FAITH; and that NOT OF YOURSELVES; it is the gift of God:
NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast.”
(“ACCEPTING”, “BELIEVING”, and “SEEKING” are all works that we do.)
“THE HEART IS DECEITFUL ABOVE ALL THINGS, AND DESPERATELY WICKED: who can know it?”
“There is none that understands,
THERE IS NONE THAT SEEKS AFTER GOD.”
“In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of HIM WHO WORKS ALL THINGS AFTER THE COUNSEL OF HIS OWN WILL”
We do not come into a relationship with Christ of our own freewill, but by HIS WILL!
Perhaps person “Y” was told by their parish ‘priest’ that all they needed to have a personal relationship with Christ is to receive the ‘sacraments’ of the Roman Catholic Church; be baptized, confirmed, receive the Eucharist, pray the rosary http://s263.photobucket.com/albums/ii159… and venerate Mary as Queen of Heaven. http://s263.photobucket.com/albums/ii159…
According to the Bible, that would be FALSE.
“This people draws near unto me with their mouth, and honors me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But IN VAIN THEY DO WORSHIP ME, TEACHING FOR DOCTRINES THE COMMANDMENTS OF MEN.”
“And when we BURNED INCENSE TO THE QUEEN OF HEAVEN, and poured out drink offerings unto her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings unto her”
-Jeremiah 44:19 http://s263.photobucket.com/albums/ii159… http://s263.photobucket.com/albums/ii159/VISAGE_photo/GODDESS/?action=view¤t=maryincense.jpg
Lastly, there is person “Z” who believes the Bible as the only authority for spiritual truth, which emphatically states that Jesus said:
“NO MAN CAN COME TO ME, EXCEPT THE
FATHER WHICH HATH SENT ME DRAW HIM”
ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE THIS IS TRUE!
“According as HE HAS CHOSEN US IN HIM BEFORE THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestined us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of HIS WILL”
“MY SHEEP HEAR MY VOICE, AND I KNOW THEM, AND THEY FOLLOW ME”
“ELECT according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which ACCORDING TO HIS ABUNDANT MERCY has begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To AN INHERITANCE INCORRUPTIBLE, AND UNDEFILED, AND THAT FADES NOT AWAY, RESERVED IN HEAVEN FOR YOU, WHO ARE KEPT BY THE POWER OF GOD THROUGH FAITH UNTO SALVATION ready to be revealed in the last time.”
-1 Peter 1:2-5
Yes, however the mechanics of the divergent belief systems is what keeps us fighting each other. Jesus said, “I am the way the truth and the life, NO MAN cometh unto the Father but by me”. Too simple of a message for some. They need qualifiers for some reason. The Bible is clear, leave your sins behind, repent and turn to Jesus as your only hope for salvation.
Of course they are, this is why I wouldn’t believe any of them. Anyone who had an actual relationship with the Jesus of the Bible would attempt to love others as He loved them and rather than condemning would live in a way that set a good example. They would also be aware of that bit about removing the beam from their own eye before attempting to remove the spec from the eye of their brother.
Phone: Jeremiah 33:3
The Qur’an says (Surah 86 v 4) “No human soul but hath a guardian over it” Angels must have a soul but aren’t quite human in that state. Maybe not enough are into “Lead me not into temptation” – nor any other come to that – well, we have been around a long time and familiarity can breed contempt so some say !!
From an unbiased standpoint, we can assume that there are 3 scenarios:
1. one of those people is correct.
2. All of those people are wrong.
3. The truth is a mixture of everything they know or think they know.
This applies to nearly everything that is debated, not just the existence/demands of Jesus.
Not at all…
They simply talk about their different perceptions of the same Jesus…
Young siblings may play rough, but the family bond still exists.
Pardon? It is the Father’s judgment which rules. Christians are forgiven, not perfected. God will determine the heart, and what may surprise you is that all three have been forgiven. And, yes, it is the same Jesus Christ.
When you figure this one out, you may be finally open to My voice.
Forgive others as I have forgiven you.
A case like this proves that just because you’re religious doesn’t mean you’re incapable of narcissism. Jesus was a lover. People forget that.
I’d say that some if not all three of them have a false idea of who Jesus is.
Belief is different in the eyes of every person.
You choose to believe what you want, and live your life as such.
