Would israel Recognize Hamas ?

IF Hamas asked israel’s recognition in return of Hamas recognition of israel…….

Israel believes that Palestinian internationally recognized territories belong only to the Jewish people. Any Palestinian government – terrorist or not – that stands in the way of the Israeli expansion plans will never be recognized by Israel. That is why we all know that as long as Israel exists on that Arab land, there will never be peace.

This is a pointless question. Hamas would never recognise Israel’s right to exist & will kill anyone including their own people if they should disagree.

Hamas use the building of settlements as an excuse to not negotiate & continue the fight. If they wanted peace, they could have had that decades ago.

After the 1st World war Arabia was split up into separate countries. Britain & France honoured the Balfour Declaration to give the Jews a homeland of their own, but there was no agreement between the Jews & the Arabs as to where that land would be. In 1948 Britain & France pulled out control of the region & fighting hasn’t really stopped since. What used to be Israel was split up into Jordan & Israel plus a disputed area now known as Gaza & the West Bank. Israel believe that the whole of that land is theirs, & the Palestinians also claim ownership. The difference is that Israel were prepared to negotiate land for peace & Hamas weren’t.
I think Israel did a great thing by evicting Jews from Gaza a few years ago, but their repayment was to receive thousands of rockets from Hamas since then. Hamas have proved their evil intention & deserve all the negative publicity the get & much more. The result is going to be an ongoing war until they learn that evil begats evil.

Nowadays they seem to realise that they can’t win a conventional war – they keep trying & failing, so they use a political war by lying. They use words like “illegal occupation” which means that Jews legally bought land in the disputed land & built homes etc there. They lie about Israel being an Apartheid state, when in fact lots of Arabs live in Israel, but Jews living in the disputed land are terrorised.
The International community think that there could be a 2 state solution based on the 1967 borders subject to Israel’s security. Unfortunately they seem to have forgotten that Hamas simply want to destroy Israel completely & are blind to Hamas’s lies.

What difference does it make.? Israel does not want peace until its occupied the whole of the West Bank and removed as many Palestinians as possible .This they have proved a number of times. It will only be when the rockets start again that they will cry out that they are the victims and yet they broke the only realistic ceasefire between themselves and Hamas the freedom fighters in 2008. Then just a few months later bombed Gaza killing 1400 civilians with the feeble excuse that the rocket attacks had started again !!! Just what did they expect ?

Lets be honest here. Hamas will never recognize Israel because that would be a negation of Hamas and what it has always stood for… the removal of Israel via violent means and the establishment of a Palestinian state in its place.
Thus, to bring peace would mean the removal of Hamas and other terrorist organizations, not the “nomalization” of them.

I think it is a package with Hamas, It is the recognition of Israel’s right to exist and it is the amending of their charter which calls for the death of Jews and destruction of Israel.

If Hamas offered to amend their charter to erase the articles talking about how the Muslims will kill the Jews and the articles about the destruction of Israel, as well as the recognition of Israel right to exist, I believe Israel will then recognize Hamas as a legitimate representative of the Palestinians.

Israel did the same thing with Arafat and the PLO, although in reality the PLO only agreed to amend their charter, they never actually did.

If Hamas recognize Israel and stops any terrorist activity, Israel will stop to count them as a terrorist organization.
That’s in fact what happened with the PLO and Arafat (which later turned out unfortunately that he still was supporting terrorism)

There can´t be no “if”. Either Hamas recognizes Israel as the Jewish State, publicly renounces of terrorism and drops the idea that Israel “is obliged” to accept 4 mln of arabs on its territory – or it can go on screaming about how it will “throw Jews out of Palestine” sitting in the miserable piece of land called Gaza for another 50,000 years.

Israel already recognize Hamas

They recognize them as a terrorist organization, just like many over countries and the EU do

Fair enough Sameer, I also hope for peace in the middle east. However before anything can happen Hamas must recognize Israel. However this 2 state solution has been put forward so many times, such as the Oslo accords only for the Palestinians to back out at the last minute and go back to terror.
They have also admitted in the past that negotiations have been a ruse to get a foot in the door, and then destroy Israel

Please look at this “Faisal Husseini, hailed by CNN as a moderate voice of peace, admits that negotiations with Israel are just an interim strategy to liberate the entire land”

My Issue is with the Palestinian leadership who do their own people NO favors But Hamas has done nothing that would suggest Israel can trust them, and no indication that they will remove their call for the destruction of Israel

how can you say Barack offered nothing. He offered a lot, but it was NEVER Arafats intention to accept anything
“eEhud Barak claimed that he offered Arafat an eventual 91% of the West Bank, and all of the Gaza Strip, with Palestinian control over Eastern Jerusalem as the capital of the new Palestinian state; in addition, all refugees could apply for compensation of property from an international fund to which Israel would contribute along with other countries”

Clinton blamed Arafat after the failure of the talks, stating, “I regret that in 2000 Arafat missed the opportunity to bring that nation into being and pray for the day when the dreams of the Palestinian people for a state and a better life will be realized in a just and lasting peace.” The failure to come to an agreement was widely attributed to Yasser Arafat, as he walked away from the table without making a concrete counter-offer and because Arafat did little to quell the series of Palestinian riots that began shortly after the summit.[15][19][20] Arafat was also accused of scuttling the talks by Nabil Amr, a former minister in the Palestinian Authority.[21]

In 2004, two books by American participants at the summit were published that placed the blame for the failure of the summit on Arafat. The books were The Missing Peace by longtime US Middle East envoy Dennis Ross and My Life by President Clinton. Clinton wrote that Arafat once complimented Clinton by telling him, “You are a great man.” Clinton responded, “I am not a great man. I am a failure, and you made me one.”[22] During a lecture in Australia, Ross stated that the reason for the failure was Arafat’s unwillingness to sign a final deal with Israel that w’ould close the door on any of the Palestinians’ maximum demands, particularly the right of return. Ross claimed that what Arafat really wanted was “a one-state solution. Not independent, adjacent Israeli and Palestinian states, but a single Arab state encompassing all of Historic Palestine”.[23]

However, I can see that we could go back and forth debating on who is to blae for failed negotiations but I just realized something.

I have been unfair in that I actually have never really answered your question.
Yes, I do think Israel would return the favor if Hamas rcognizes Israel. However unfortunately I 100% believe Hamas will not ever recognise Israel. I hope they will, but I am sure they won’t. If they ever do I will owe you a big apology.

Edit. You ask what has Israel offered. Well a lot really. They offers their hand in friendship when Israel was formed, and then were invaded They offered to return all lands in 1967, rejected be the Palastinians. They returned the Sinai to the Egyptians. They offered the Palastinians a state at camp David in 2000, once again they were rejected. They offered to withdraw groups and grant self determination and self government to the Palastinians in Gaza, Israel did this but in return the Palastinians voted in Hamas who send rockets into Israel

The ONE thing the Palastinians have offered to do is to recognize Israel take away their call to destroy Israel. They said they would do it, but to this day they have NOT .
Israel offers lots. If the Palastinians keep rejecting it then they should look at their own leadership, because they are the ones responsible for the unfortunate position the Palastinians are in now

Just noticed something. You spell Israel with a small I, that is extremely disrespectful. At first I thought it was a typo, but I see you have done it EVERY time. All posters here have written Hamas with a capital H, please be polite to return the favor for Israel. The fact you don’t tells me you are perhaps not the caring intelligent person I originally thought. Sorry

I know that you know this, Israel invented Hamas so they could split up the Palestinians and get them to fight each other, they spend a lot ot time and money to do that, but it backfired on them jut like the intifada (which they organized also) backfired on them, Israel would never recognize Hamas because if they did then they have to except peace between themselves and the Palestinians in general, and that’s counter productive for Israel.

Recognize them as what…? A terrorist organization?
