I have a 1994 ford explorer that recently failed only the idle HC emissions portion of the emissions test. The cruise limit for HC was only at 12ppm but the idle limit was 1214ppm! The CO levels for the idle emissions passed as welI. I recently changed the spark plugs and the oil. My car passed every other portion…
make sure your pcv is clean and working, make sure your egr is clean and working, then eliminate any vac leaks.if it dont pass then, cat converter time.trust me on this,i hate ca smog.
ok, hcs are the unburned gas in the engine. because every thing else passed i am a bit confused.
So what’s your question?
