Obama says it was “offensive and disappointing” the smear campaign from McCain about Obama being the prefered presidential candidate for Hamas. Obama goes on to say that he is disappointed in McCain for attacking him and creating a smear campaign. Will this smear campaign continue? Will Obama resort to…
And all those nice little smears he has run against hillary mean nothing right. Honestly i know he is a politician but he is just being ahypocrit
It’s not a “smear campaign,” it’s the truth. and McCain sent it out himself, under his letterhead, and above his signature. he wasn’t sneaky. McCain told the truth. If people think there is no problem with Hamas endorsing Obama, then they won’t care. what’s the problem? impossible for Obama to spin it? or impossible for him to “denounce” Hamas?
Obama should find his own truths and speak them—that’s how things should be done in the United States. Stalinist-style revisionism has infiltrated the collective mind enough. I hope that this campaign year will be a wake up call in that regard.
Excerpts from letter sent by Senator McCain through his campaign on April 18, 2008:
“Wednesday’s Democratic debate provided insight into Barack Obama’s positions on key foreign policy issues. As president he says he would immediately withdraw our troops from Iraq- even if he were strongly advised against this by our nation’s top military commanders. He would also hold direct talks with the Iranian regime- a regime that does not recognize Israel and is the largest state sponsor of terrorism in the world. Iran’s president has even called for Israel to be “wiped off the map.”
“During the debate, Barack Obama once again refused to condemn former President Jimmy Carter- who publicly supports Obama- for holding talks with the Hamas terrorist group, a group supported financially, politically and military by Iran.
“Barack Obama’s foreign policy plans have even won him praise from Hamas leaders. Ahmed Yousef, chief political adviser to the Hamas Prime Minister said, “We like Mr. Obama and we hope he will win the election. He has a vision to change America.”
“We need change in America, but not the kind of change that wins kind words from Hamas, surrenders in Iraq and will hold unconditional talks with Iranian President Ahmadinejad.
“John McCain’s foreign policy provides a stark contrast to the policies of Barack Obama.
“John McCain will always put the interests of American families above all else.”
I don’t think it counts as a smear if it is true. Hamas leader Ahmed Yousef said in no uncertain terms that he is hoping that Obama becomes the president. And this doesn’t shock me at all. Anti-Americans everywhere are flocking to his side, from Jane Fonda to Michael Moore, Louis Farrakhan to Ted Kennedy. This is a major reason why I decided to stop supporting Obama – if his plans and policies are satisfying this many radicals and even an international terrorist organization, then his agenda is bad for America!
“I think it’s very clear who Hamas wants to be the next president,” the GOP nominee-in-waiting said. “If Senator Obama is favored by Hamas, I think people can make judgments accordingly.”
Where’s the smear? Sounds like fact to me, he is the one that said he would sit with the terrorists and negotiate.
Ha! Ha! O is crazy and he thinks everyone is stupid. He has not been running a clean campaighn he just can’t find the dirt.Hey, it does not take a ROCKET Scientist to figure that out. Just open your eyes. He has giving Hillary and McCain enough to last through November. Bring it on O! What will we find out next about him? Can’t wait.
Well since alot of comparison of Obama to Jimmy Carter is being brought up, this may be possible. And Obama needs to toughen up, if he is the nominee this will only get worse.
The negative campaigning will happen from both parties and it will get worse over the next few months.
When is the truth a smear?
Not when Wright does it , though.
Seems like McCain is on the money.
At this point.. I really just don’t care if Obama is disappointed or not!
Obama thinks that he can play the race card to win the Presidency…he is mistaken…white people are sick of being called racist for questioning Obama’s judgement and character….white “working class” voters are not, as a majority, voting for Obama, not b/c of the color of his skin, but b/c they know baloney when they hear it….
