How can I embrace the Messianic Jewish lifestyle?

I consider myself to be a Messianic Gentile believer; I am not Jewish. However, I think that it is very important that Christians acknowledge and embrace the Jewish roots of their faith. I am not Jewish, so I do not want to call myself a Messianic Jew, but I would like to start taking steps to begin living a more…

I commend you in your desire and effort to walk in the Messiah’s footsteps! I am Messianic Jew and there are non-Jewish Messianic believers in my congregation. We are Torah-observant, as was the Messiah. If you can find a congregation, no matter how small, it will help you tremendously in the way of support and inspiration.

May Yeshua HaMashiach bless you as you learn and grow in His ways!

You pose a very good topic for discussion, being that you do acknowledge you are not a Jew but like to learn how you can live a life as a messianic Jew, good for you! Now, eventhough it may be possible for you learn the roots of our ways {which by the way is simple by just reading the Torah which stands for “instruction”} you sure to recieve insights their but if the Torah seems to obscured for you just read some rabbinical commentaries in the code of the Jewish law to get a deeper insight as to what it is to be a Jew.

So now I come to this next comment, simply considering yourself messianic is fine and if you are not a Jew the best advice that I can gvive you is understand your own roots * where did you come from? *From what geneology do you connect with, Adam?

No! The world before Noah was destroyed G-d told Noah and his children to muliply and replenish the earth and made a covenent with him and his children after him there was no covenent made with Adam, so the connection with every non-jewish person of the world should be with Noah. For instance, the jewish people say “the G-d of Abraham” has anyone ever wondered why? It is because of the covenent he made with Abraham and those who proceeded from his boosom.

Non-jews can also say “the G-d of Noah or the G-d of Shem or the G-d of Yeshua etc etc. but to say you are Jewish when you’re not that there is a desception.

I think that the first step is to study Yahshua (or how ever you want to spell the original name of the Messiah) and see the differences between the Jewish Yahshua and jesus, there is a huge difference!
Read the Torah, that’s the foundation for everything.
The Sabbath is so very important too, research that and find a good messianic congregation to fellowship with, there are plenty of good ones out there, but be careful there are also many that aren’t “kosher” either.

I think that “Messianic Jew” is a misnomer and refuse to identify myself by that term. I am not a Jew, and have no interest in becoming one. In many ways, the Jewish faith and Jewish practices are no better than those of the Roman Catholic traditions of the protestant Methodist Church I left in 1984. There is a correct path, a narrow one, that all believers in Messiah Yahshua should seek and if they are being led by Him, will find. Here’s some places to start learning. I do not agree with everything on any of these sites, again, they are a place to START learning. May the Eternal One guide you to His path.……

Edit: The difficulty in leaving tradtional “Christian” teachings behind is making sure one does not get caught up in equally wrong new practices and beliefs. God Bless

From what I understand, most Messianic “Jews” start as gentiles.

Visiting a Messianic synagogue would be a good idea. I am a Gentile who is interested in this, and also have Jewish items such as a Mezuzzah, menorahs, etc.

Shalom / שָׁלוֹם

scripture does not teach ‘christianity’. The Savior YAHUSHUA did not either. I don’t know where you are, but consider ‘assemblies of YAHWEH’ if there is one near you. Saving Faith is Nazarene Judaism. Worshipers of YHVH who follow YAHUSHUA. ‘christianity’ is a heathen religion, (as is ‘Judaism’ as presently practiced.

response: go find a ‘messianic’ CHURCH

Just don’t fall for the lies that u can call yourself a “Jew” or that your minister is a rabbi and that the church is called a synagogue.

Those are lies and dishonorable
